The Association office has received a number of leaflets for free courses available to our members.
These courses include:
1. Free training available for new entrants to the Fishing Industry:
Basic Sea Survival
Basic Health and Safety for new entrants
2. Within 3 months of entering the industry
Basic First Aid
Basic Fire Fighting
All application for these training courses must be approved by Seafish, so early application is essential Funding is limited. Please apply early.
3. Fishermen with at least 12 months fishing experience
Bridge Watch Keeping/ Navigation: 2/5 Day (Seafish) Course
Engine room Watch Keeping/ Engineering: 2 Day (Seafish) Course
Intermediate Stability Awareness: 1 day (Seafish) Course
GMDSS Short Range Certificate: 1 day (RYA) Course
All the above suite of courses combine to provide the NEW UNDER 16½ metre Skippers Ticket
