The Llyn Land and Seafood Festival was located in the picturesque setting of the Pwllheli Hafan Marina at the south side of the Llyn Peninsula, was held this year on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June. The Festival highlights the fantastic array of local seafood available. Lobsters, Crabs and Scallops are plentiful together with the very finest of Welsh produce including Welsh Beef, Cheeses, Wines and much more.
The Festival is certainly something that you don’t want to miss. If you haven’t attended before we hope this website will provide you with all the information that you need and prompt you to come and join in the fun.
The 2008 Festival is now done and dusted. If you attended then we are sure you’ll agree that despite the fine weather, a new name, a new date in the calendar and the fuel crisis - the general consensus particularly amongst the exhibitors, was that the Llyn Land and Seafood Festival was a resounding success again this year.

A big thanks is again extended to the Welsh Assembly Government for their enlightened, continued and vital support. A particular vote of thanks to the Presiding Officer Lord Dafydd Elis Thomas (who is also our local Assembly Member) - for attending and taking part.
Thanks is also extended to all the exhibitors who contributed in making the atmosphere so relaxed and friendly, and to all the helpers on the day for ensuring things ran as smoothly as they did. Last, but by no means least, we need to thank the public - both local and visitors - who came and spent their hard earned cash!
The usual and entertaining programme of events within the marquee were well received with cooking demonstration by top chefs as Dai Chef, the Daily Post’s Colin Pressdee, Mel Thomas (S4C) and Aled Williams (Gordon Ramsay Scholarship Winner). As last year, the wine tasting with Paul Richards from Terry Platt Wine Merchants, treated us again to a trio of different wines.
Kids had plenty to keep them occupied, with free face painting and Gwynedd Council’s SAC with hoards of information about marine life in and around the Llyn, together with interactive games for the children.
This year’s school competition was again a great success with entries from Ysgol Tudweiliog, Ysgol Llanystumdwy and Ysgol Nefyn. This year the children had to create a papier mache figure depicting and related to fishing activities on the Llyn, such as shellfish, fish, boats, Fishermen, fishing gear etc. The standard of entries was high and difficult to judge. They were competing for prizes of £100 donated by the Festival. The prize was split between Ysgol Tudweiliog and Ysgol Llanystumdwy – with each school receiving £50.
A free prize draw was also conducted at the event, with entrants filling in a market research questionnaire for the chance of winning a session at High Adventure donated by Ropeworks, Chwilog.
Work has already started to make 2009 an even better experience for all those involved. The Festival will be held on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of May next year. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see included, please use the contact section and we will do our best.
